About Tangalle

Tangalle is where the south coast gets quieter: a fishing town with a harbour and a market, and a string of long, empty beaches on either side, from Goyambokka and Silent Beach in the west to Medaketiya, Marakolliya and Rekawa in the east. There is no centre to walk to, and the hotels are spread over many kilometres, which is why a reliable taxi service matters more here than in Mirissa. Every transfer from Tangalle on this page has a fixed price for the whole vehicle, with the driver, fuel, expressway tolls and parking included.
